Ikigai: The Japanese secret to a long and happy life

Image
"Everything may be stolen from a man except for one thing: the last of human liberties—the ability to select one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." In this book, the term ikigai is translated as the joy of always being busy. Ikigai is a composite of your passion, mission, and vocation. This book addresses some fundamental questions of why some people continue to do what they've been doing for years, even if it's the same thing over and over again, such as performers, authors, bloggers, and painters. Why are certain people never bored or frustrated when they repeat the same actions repeatedly? Now I'm aware that this book has been overhyped in the market and that many of us have unrealistic expectations for it. While I believe the book addresses the fundamental question that we frequently miss. Additionally, it has a ten-point shortened version of the ikigai rule: 1. Continue to be active; do not retire. 2. Go slo...

Calling Sehmat by Harinder Sikka

Image
I recommend first reading the book and then watching the movie. The book is much better than the film. The film adaptation of the book "Raazi" is excellent. The plot is fantastic, and it is also inspiring because it is based on an actual event about a young lady who takes enormous risks for her nation. Sehmat's parents, Tej and Hidayat Khan, had a love story that begins the plot. Tej travels to Kashmir and meets Hidayat, who captivates him. The action then resumes up when Sehmat is in college and highly talented. Hidayat has contacts in Pakistan due to his trading relationships, and he provides vital intelligence to Indian Intelligence. In 1971, as tensions between India and Pakistan rose, he fell gravely ill. The situation in East Pakistan is bleak and troubling for Pakistan, and the country is eager to undertake a pre-emptive strike against India. Hidayat concludes that he has no choice except to appoint Sehmat in his stead. Sehmat must give up her feelings for Abhin...

Wings of fire The book is an autobiography written by Sir Arun Tiwari and Sir A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The novel revolves around the life of Sir A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, who shares his experiences and the most minute details of his life as a scientist. The book discusses his family background, the pain and suffering he endured, and how he overcame his grief. This book had a significant impact on my life. It contains numerous details about the technological and political challenges he faced. It provides insight into the harmony that exists among India's various religious communities. It's the story of a young boy who tries to achieve his dreams despite all odds. It has emphasized our scientists' contributions to aeronautical, space, and rocket technology. This book has the influence and power to motivate a person to stand out in life. I discovered this book on Amazon's Best Sellers list. Then I decided to read this book. I felt the same way Sir Kalam did when he was involved i...

Why I am an Atheist -     Bhagat Singh 'Everyone who stands for progress must criticize every principle of old beliefs,' wrote the revolutionary, who was 23 at the time. Bhagat Singh (born September 28, 1907) was convicted and hanged on March 23, 1931, for his role in the murder of John Saunders. This book is a collection of letters written by Bhagat Singh from Central Jail Lahore in 1930 to his father, comrades, and the Governor-General of India during the Lahore Conspiracy Case. I remained silent for 30 seconds after finishing this book, my hands folded. It was the most amazing book I'd ever read. And the most challenging. Though there are numerous quotes in this book, my personal favorite is: They may be able to kill me, but they will not be able to kill my ideas. They may be able to crush my body, but they will be unable to crush my spirit. — Bhagat Singh   Bhagat Singh's essay 'Why I'm An Atheist' explains why he rejects the existence of God.   ...

75th Independence Day

Image
Good morning, everyone. And a happy 75th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Today, our country remembers and honours its freedom fighters. I want to dedicate this Independence Day to all front-line workers (FLW), whose tremendous efforts helped save millions of lives during the pandemic. Especially scientists who developed covid vaccines at such a rapid pace. I want to pay tribute to the victims of the deadly virus. The agony of losing them will always haunt us. But we must also consider our country's challenges. High inflation and rising unemployment are causing problems in the challenging economy. But I'm proud of India's performance in the Tokyo Olympics. India's best performance this year in Tokyo has resulted in seven medals — one gold, two silver, and three bronze — an increase from the six it won in London in 2012. I recall celebrating Independence Day at school. I used to ride my bicycle to school. It was easy to ride a bicycle that day because we...
